Background:
The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) required a comprehensive and professionally designed factsheet to raise awareness about their Environment, Health, and Safety Policy. The factsheet aimed to highlight KPA’s commitment to environmental protection and workplace safety through the implementation of an Integrated Management System based on ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards.
Our Approach:
At Becor Designs, we understood the critical importance of effectively communicating KPA’s dedication to environmental stewardship and occupational health and safety. Our task was to create an informative and visually appealing factsheet that would clearly convey the key elements of KPA’s policies and standards to employees, contractors, customers, port users, and visitors.
Design Concept:
- Informative Content: We structured the factsheet to provide clear and concise information about KPA’s Environment, Health, and Safety Policy, focusing on their adherence to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards. Key sections included the policy overview, the benefits of ISO certification, and the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.
- Visual Clarity: To ensure the factsheet was engaging and easy to understand, we incorporated KPA’s branding elements, such as their colour palette and logo. Visual aids like icons, charts, and infographics were used to illustrate the standards and policies effectively.
- Stakeholder Focused: The design and content were tailored to resonate with a diverse audience, including employees, contractors, and port users. We made sure that technical information was presented in a clear and accessible manner.
Execution and Delivery:
Our team collaborated closely with KPA to gather detailed information about their Environment, Health, and Safety Policy and the specific requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards. Through iterative design and feedback sessions, we refined the content and layout to meet KPA’s objectives.
The final factsheet was designed to be versatile for both digital and print distribution, ensuring broad accessibility and ease of dissemination. It effectively communicated KPA’s commitment to environmental protection and workplace safety, enhancing awareness and understanding among all stakeholders.
